Kimberley Simms (born July 27, 1963)[1] is an American actress, best known for her role as Mindy Lewis on Guiding Light.

Early Life[edit]

She is the second of five children.[1] Her family moved from Toledo, Ohio to Melbourne, Florida when she was 15.[1] She was badly injured in a car accident at age 18 and had to have her face reconstructed with plastic surgery.[1]

She attended the University of California at Irvine and also UCLA, where she earned a degree in theater.[1]

Career[edit]

She appeared on Capitol before being cast as Mindy Lewis on Guiding Light, replacing Krista Tesreau.[2] She played the role from July 1989 until her departure in the Summer of 1992.[3] She won a 1991 Soap Opera Digest Award for Outstanding Female Newcomer for her role on Guiding Light.[4]

Simms also appeared in an episode of Burke's Law, titled "Who Killed the Soap Star?"

Personal Life[edit]

She has been married to chef Christopher Blobaum since 2001. The couple have a daughter, Tuesday, whom they adopted from China.[5]
